We went up to Troodos kind of on a whim. We were going to go to Ikea for a few items but, seeing the thick frosting of snow on Olympus, we decided to check out the slopes instead. Kyle took to the skis really quickly and managed very well indeed, we’re very proud of our smart little boy and I am very pleased to have got him on skis, I’ve been wanting to get him started for ages now.

Shrimps
We couldn’t decide what to have for tea, so finally elected Chinese take away. Whilst eating the ‘special’ fried rice I tried to persuade Kyle to eat the shrimps. Now, Kyle has eaten shrimps before, so I tried to convince him that he had eaten them and liked them. Finally, sensing I was getting annoyed, he conceded and in order to please me announced; “I do like them dad”, “Good”, I said, “Shrimps are my favourite vegetable!”, he added happily. Needless to say, he still didn’t eat all of it, kids!

Racing snake
I got a call not long before the end of work on Monday. Elena, sounding a bit upset, telling me Kyle had a nasty fall off his bike and I should come and meet them at the Medical Centre. When I arrived he was up on the bed, with the nurse cleaning his wounds and clearly feeling quite sorry for himself, with a cut and swollen lip, a nick under his nose and a nice big scratch on his forehead. He didn’t even seem to respond too happily when she said that we should give him some ice pops to cool the lip and help reduce the swelling. Later though, after a bath and some more TLC at home, he began to cheer up. Little dare devil that he is!
